Classical Christian Education: Real faith and real learning

If you want to live a faithful Christian life and not just have Christian ideas, it will take practice. That is why we begin each day with Christian practices like prayer and scripture and end each day with Doxology. It is also why we only hire faculty who are mature Christians and who affirm the historic Christian understanding of what it means to be men and women created in God’s image.

If you want to grow in knowledge, discernment, and virtue, teaching for the test or even preparing for college is not good enough. You need a rich and challenging classical liberal arts education. This is precisely what we offer students at The Academy — The Ecclesial School’s new high school program.

What is a classical liberal arts education?

  • Literature, History and Humanities – great books, latin, logic, writing, and rhetoric.

  • Math and Science – discovery, understanding, problem solving, and application.

  • The Arts – choral music and studio arts like drawing, painting, and printmaking.

  • Athletics – varsity opportunities in cross country, wrestling, and flag football.

In short, we offer students a great high school education, without all the distractions.

Who do you want to be?

Charles Jones said famously that “You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.” So, who are you going to meet and what are you going to read? How you answer these questions not only determines who you will become. It determines what you should be doing today.

We created The Academy for young men and women who want to grow into faithful and flourishing adults – they want to meet teachers who are wise and godly and to build relationships with fellow students who are from diverse backgrounds. They want to read great books and have great discussions as part of a rich and engaging classical liberal arts education.

Are you Looking for something Extraordinary?

There are any number of schools that offer the ordinary high school experience. They provide athletics, electives, and extracurricular activities. They provide college prep courses. They provide a steady diet of homework, papers, tests, and projects. In other words, they provide an education that will leave you pretty much the same person you were before you came.

What if there was an alternative? What if there was a school that provided academic excellence without the busy work and the anxiety? What if there was a school that challenged you to grow intellectually and spiritually, that didn’t just keep you busy? Wouldn’t that be extraordinary?

If you are looking for an alternative to the ordinary high school experience, we would love to meet you. You can schedule a tour of The Academy for you and your parents today. Come learn more about our small class sizes, our classical liberal arts courses, our outstanding faculty, and our focused offerings of athletics and activities.

You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.
