Expanding access to extraordinary education is impossible without the support of our community partners. If you love children, are inspired by our mission, and have time and talents you are willing to share, we would love to have the chance to meet you! We have many opportunities to volunteer including: guest readers, classroom helpers, garden helpers, lunchtime and recess helpers, housekeeping, and hospitality.

Steps to become an approved chaperone or volunteer

Thank you for partnering with us to keep our school and students safe. We ask that all volunteers and chaperones have a valid background check on file through the State of Florida’s Clearinghouse program. Volunteers and chaperones who are required to obtain a background check are those who may work with students in an unsupervised environment or who drive and chaperone on school organized events such as field trips.

A driving record check is also required is you are a parent would like to drive students on a field trip.

Step 1: Complete the Chaperone Agreement Form.

The form is completed only once and kept on file. As part of this agreement, chaperones agree to obtain a background check.

The cost for the background check is $76 and is billed through Veracross or by dropping off a check to the school. The Ecclesial Schools Initiative wants volunteer opportunities to be accessible for all families, so please reach out to the business office to discuss reduced fee options if the cost is prohibitive for your family.

• Begin the background check process by completing this form. Your personal information is kept confidential and is necessary to initiate a background check request from the State of Florida’s Clearinghouse program.

• Once the form linked above is completed, the business office will send you further instructions on how to submit fingerprints and obtain a background check.

Step 3: Driving Record Check for parents and guardians.

In addition to a background check, we require that all drivers submit to a driver record check. Only those cleared by the business office will be permitted to drive students. To complete this form, you will need information from your car insurance policy document. The cost or the driver check is $13 for the first year and $10 for every proceeding year. It will be billed through Veracross or parents may pay by check.
