Wendy Allen

Wendy Allen is a Kindergarten teacher at The Ecclesial School at St. Alban’s. Wendy studied early childhood education and business in eastern North Carolina, and her love for children and education came together when God called her to homeschool her two boys. Wendy taught for seven years in a Classical Christian Cottage School during her ten years of home education. She grew up in Iowa where her love for school blossomed and her devotion to learning was nurtured by a few dedicated, unique, and special teachers. From an early age, she knew that teaching and motherhood was her calling.

After being called to Central Florida nine years ago, Wendy continued her love for teaching in the Pre-K classroom and as a preschool music teacher. Wendy is beginning her sixth year in the kindergarten classroom at The Ecclesial School, and feels most at home and inspired by the wonder and curiosity of young children.

Wendy has studied primary education and is trained in the field of early childhood instruction with over fourteen years of classroom experience. Most recently, Wendy was trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach to literacy, where she now applies muti-sensory reading techniques in her classroom.   Her supportive and loving husband of 23 years, Paul, is her biggest source of encouragement as they parent their five children and love on their four grandchildren. The Allens’ youngest daughter Abigail-Ruth is a student at The Ecclesial School. She is in her sixth year at The Ecclesial School and is thriving in the classical Christian setting. One of Wendy’s greatest joys is seeing the love of Christ and His character grow in the lives, minds, and hearts of her children and students.
