Karin Dewey

Karin Dewey teaches drama, public speaking, and rhetoric. She grew up on a farm in southeast North Dakota and graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a minor in Psychology and Child & Family Studies.  After graduation, she moved to Florida to work for Disney and ended up meeting her Prince Charming, Jason.  They have three children ages 19, 17, and 15 who have all been classically homeschooled since kindergarten.

Karin directed her first church musical at the age of 16.  Here in Florida, she has directed Christmas, Easter, and Missions musical theater productions at Northland Church in Longwood.  Most recently, Karin performed the role of Miss Hannigan in the Magic Curtain Productions performance of Annie.  She desires to help students realize their full creative potential and use their gifts and talents to glorify God through the performing arts and public speaking.

Before joining The Ecclesial School at St. Alban’s, Karin taught for nine years at a local classical education community for homeschoolers as well as offered classes and private tutoring out of her home. Karin loves scrapbooking, books, traveling, Disney outings, and especially playing with their four dogs.  She also loves entertaining and throwing parties.  No event should go uncelebrated!  One of the biggest blessings in her life is the wonderful Godly family into which she was born. It is her hope and prayer to help point kids to Jesus.
