alicia o’riordan

Alicia O'Riordan teaches Nature Study & Common Arts at The Ecclesial School at Northland. She was homeschooled as a child in the Florida Panhandle and developed a deep love for the outdoors and nature exploration through the daily rhythms of her family. Alicia later discovered a passion for nurturing the growth and development of young children, and went on to attend Florida State University, earning a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. She has now devoted the last 20 years as an early childhood educator, in both public and private settings, as well as homeschooling her own four children. During this time, Alicia has seized every opportunity to explore the natural world in her curricula and educational philosophy.

Now, with an outdoor classroom, Alicia aims to form that same awe and wonder within her students that she experienced as a child, believing that time spent outdoors reveals the beauty and truth with which God created our world.  “Not all classrooms have four walls” could not be more true, and Alicia is eager to share her passion for exploration with the children of The Ecclesial School.

Alicia loves to spend time on the beach with her husband and their four daughters. They enjoy the breeze of the salty air while spotting wildlife and collecting shells together. Alicia also finds delight in cooking, party planning, and interior design.
